20/20 Plumbing and Heating, Inc. recently partnered with premier homebuilder Tri Pointe Homes to provide HVAC installation for its Newpark by Pardee Homes community in Menifee. This masterplan luxury neighborhood of 3- and 4-bedroom residences features spacious homes on large lots. Three floorpans ranging from 2,616 to 3,296 square feet showcase modern architecture with open-plan layouts. Each model includes a GenSmart Suite thoughtfully designed for multigenerational families.

Newpark is located in the masterplan community of Centennial, only minutes away from Temecula’s award-wining wineries, restaurants and shopping. Centennial also includes a 10-acre sports park with facilities for soccer, little league baseball and basketball.

Having skilled tradespeople with the training and resources to complete a new residential or commercial construction project at any stage sets 20/20 apart from the competition. A new-build project requires the expertise to incorporate Title 24 requirements for energy efficiency, builder specs, architectural design, structural engineering and truss layouts. Taking these factors into consideration, 20/20’s craftspeople are able to design a system that meets all of these requirements, confirm its functionality and pre-fab the necessary ductwork, plenums and linesets in the company’s in-house HVAC manufacturing facility. 

Installing HVAC on a new-build project is multi-faceted process. After the rough install is complete, technicians perform duct testing to ensure that they are providing proper airflow. Then, a quality control tech goes through the structure to confirm that all necessary connections and ducts are undamaged. The next stage is the finish work, done near completion of construction, which includes installation of supply registers and return grills, thermostats and condensers. Finally, after the builder has activated the electric and gas meters, 20/20 performs a “start-up” of the system to make sure it is working properly, with HERS testing to measure airflow, fan watt draw and refrigerant charge. The whole process generally takes two to three months of due diligence, depending upon the builder’s schedule.

Its team worked together with Tri Pointe’s mechanical engineer to ensure that each home’s HVAC design would perform at peak efficiency, with proper airflow to each room and the ability to pass all Home Energy Rating System (HERS) testing as required in California.
